Climate Change Warmists are Now the Deniers !

Last Thursday night, as I was packing for a weekend trip to enjoy our four day national holiday, I was watching an Australian Broadcasting Corp (ABC) program taking the viewers to a Uniting Church in New South Wales on a Sunday where they got a reading from the ''Gospel of Global Warming''. It's a miracle I thought! The Lord has made a reverend a global warming expert to whom the congregation must dutifully listen, as if he really knew what the hell he was talking about. And even more amazing the ABC thinks he's such an expert that he gets face time on TV. What more proof that global warming is a religious movement more than science? It's fitting that the warmest fanatics running the ABC have given their belief a religious connotation.

Also featured was a visiting American eco-alarmist Bill McKibben, ( photo ) an extremist and hypocrite currently getting an armchair ride through the ABC studios. He has come to Australia making interstate visits to lecture stock brokers and superannuation managers to advise their clients not to invest in coal and petroleum shares. He kept browbeating them with the same tired drum.....that carbon emissions from these sources of energy are raising atmospheric carbon dioxide which will increase the earth's temperature. He described his mission as a campaign he started in March, 2008 called 350.org. The effort, aimed at the entire globe, drew its name from the misguided climate scientist James Hansen's contention that any atmospheric concentration of CO2 above 350 parts per million was unsafe. In the entire ABC program, there was not one true scientific expert in climate-related fields who could point out, for instance, there has been no warning of statistical significance in 16 years.

The world isn't warming as the warmists' models claimed even though today the CO2 levels have reached 400 ppm and the increasing divergence over the years between the satellite observations and the models are actually showing no bad consequences. The reporters who have pushed along this scare -- editing out inconvenient truths while giving platforms to cranks, dreamers and planet-savers -- are not just guilty of bad journalism. They are guilty of reckless fear-mongering and a betrayal of reason. They have made a moral decision that should always be held against them. The present ABC head, Mark Scott, was chastised by the former ABC chairman, Maurice Newman; ''The ABC is not being frank and open about the way global warming is portrayed. I feel the sense of imbalance is becoming more overt with hosts of the Left, like fervent warmist Tiny Jones skewing the presentation of this issue.'' 

The Greens should be pleased with more carbon dioxide. By pumping out more "plant food", we've given the planet more trees, shrubs and grasses. Scientists have long suspected that a flourishing of green foliage around the globe, observed since the early 1980s in satellite data, springs from the increasing concentration of CO2 in our atmosphere. Now, a study of arid regions around the world finds that a carbon dioxide ''fertilization effect'' has indeed, caused a gradual greening up to the present. Randall Donohue of the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) in Canberra predicted that foliage would increase by some 5-10% given the 15% increase in atmospheric CO2. The satellite data agreed, actually showing an 11% increase in foliage. The world is getting greener in spite of the Greens!

Good news for us sceptics! Normally we are sad when multinationals pull out of Australia. Not this time.  The Climate Group, one of the world's biggest NGOs working in the climate space, is withdrawing from Australia, citing the ''unfavourable'' policy environment. The Climate Group, which has offices in the U.S., China, Europe, and India, founded its Australian offices in 2005, It has been heavily involved pushing the global warming hoax with naïve federal and state governments in the development of policies on climate change and expensive clean energy and electric vehicles. It hosted a Climate Summit in 2009 supported by the state's worst premier, Anna Bligh. This Labor leader wrecked our state's economy, gave us fluoridated water, and formed the Climate Smart  program to turn down our hot water systems from 70 degrees to 50 degrees so now Legionnaire's Disease has closed Wesley Hospital with one death reported. Thankfully, our new Premier (Liberal/National Party) Campbell Newman has closed the Climate Change Department and has caused Climate Group CEO Mark Kenber to remark, ''This decision for us to go has been made in the light of the increasingly challenging political environment involving all the states for action on climate change in Australia.''

 How could their efforts have failed when it had the help of the Australia's first and foremost climate fanatic, Tim Flannery,  who claimed global warming meant ''dams would never again fill,'' and the Victorian Premier, John Thwaites, who banned a new dam site on that premise. Then you had Australia's Prime Minister, Julia Gillard, and her ministers declaring it is impossible for anyone of reason to question their faith that carbon dioxide is heating the world dangerously. All blinded or in cynical denial to the many recent reports from around the world that the rise in carbon dioxide has only increased global temperatures from 1997 by 0.03degrees. And just last week to add the insult to James Hansen and Al Gore's prognostications, scientists report chlorofluorocarbons (CFC's) are to blame for global warming since the 1970s and not carbon dioxide. This new research from the University of Waterloo was published in the International Journal of Modern Physics.

CFCs are already known to deplete ozone, but in-depth statistical analysis now shows that CFCs are also the key driver in global climate change, rather than carbon dioxide emissions. ''Conventional thinking says that the emission of human-made non-CFC gasses such as carbon dioxide has mainly contributed to global warming. But we have observed data going back to the Industrial Revolution that convincingly shows that conventional understanding is wrong,'' said Qing-Bin Lu, a professor of physics and astronomy, biology and chemistry in Waterloo's Faculty of Science. ''In fact, the data shows that CFCs conspiring with cosmic rays caused both the polar ozone hole and global warming. With CFCs gradually fading from the atmosphere, the past decade has shown a levelling off of warming with an actual cooling trend developing.'' (see chart)

The Way I See It.....we will continue to see little warming into the future. Russian scientists are already saying that if downward temperatures continue that in the next 200 years we could see the start of another ice age. Hopefully a mild one like the chilly Medieval Period  which came after a much warmer period from 850AD to 1350AD where the temperature was 3 degrees warmer than the present. The Vikings were in full swing raping and pillaging and finding a lush green land they called GREENLAND. By 1400AD a colder change came and Greenland turned white with snow and ice.

We live in a ever changing world and for humans to try and hope to make a change to such an enormous climatic system would be foolish. Humans can more easily adapt to the climate then having to spend billions on wind farms (killing millions of bats and birds each year), solar farms, wave farms, geo-thermal plants all without a secure base load of energy production like nuclear when it's obviously not needed at this time or in the future.

Mark my words.....future generations will wonder in bemused amazement that the early twenty-first century's developed world went into hysterical panic over a globally averaged temperature increase of a few tenths of a degree, and, on the basis of gross exaggerations of highly uncertain computer projections combined into implausible chains of inference, proceeded to contemplate a roll-back of the industrial age. Thank God we are slowly exposing the Greens' absurdity.
