In April, 1968, Enoch Powell, a well-respected English Conservative Party MP made a controversial speech that was visionary at the time, in which he warned his audience of what he believed would be the consequences of continued unchecked immigration from the Commonwealth to Britain. At that time there was over a million black Caribbeans and Africans inundating English suburbs and towns every year. This now famous and prophetic "Rivers of Blood" speech was only reiterating the voices of trepidation from his many constituents. Of course he was branded a racist by the socialist establishment and was forced to retire and totally ignored.
Mr Powell died in 1998, living long enough to see the deterioration of English society by two perverse socialist policies; multiculturalism and a rampant welfare system. Britain's riots show what happens when we underestimate the underclass. Or when when we even more stupidly import one. Days of arson, looting and violence starting, not surprisingly, in Tottenham, coyly described as "very diverse". That means it has a large population of people Enoch warned about; those of African and Caribbean descent who are poor, crime-ridden and sullen.
The flashpoint was the shooting by police of Mark Duggan, which led family and friends to protest his "execution" outside the police station. There they were joined by yobs summoned by SMS & Twitter, the technology of the mob. Duggan actually best symbolised fault lines which have yawed open in Britain. He was Black, had three spawn with his girlfriend and another with someone else. This underclass ape had adopted the culture that makes a rabble puffed with pride. He was a crook with a gun, a nightclubber on welfare and gave the finger to his country. He was trash.....blinged as success.
To put it bluntly, the riots in London and elsewhere were a backhanded tribute to the long-term intellectual torpor, moral cowardice, incompetence and blind faith by the political and intellectual class in an unchecked welfare system. They have somehow managed not to notice what has long been apparent to anyone walking down any frequented British street: that a considerable proportion of the country's young males and females are ugly, aggressive, vicious, badly educated, uncouth and so immersed in the "gangsta-rap" culture making them criminally inclined.
Unfortunately, while they are totally lacking in self-respect, they are full of self-esteem: that is to say, they believe themselves entitled to a high standard of living and other things, without any effort on its own part. Over the following days, the riots spread over London, and on to Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester. And they spread to "tribes" of every colour, as ferals celebrated the freedom to dominate and to steal. All this was done under the watch of useless police, whose culture of impotence fearing the racist label for more than a decade has just emboldened the mob more.
The Way I See It....the welfare state creates a society of lazy beasts. Meanwhile, nonjudgmental elites don't dare condemn the animals their programs have created. Prime Minister David Cameron, going against political correctness and the threat of being called a racist, said only a few months ago that, "Multiculturalism is dead in England, our immigrants are not and have not, been assimilating and enjoying our British cultural benefits." Give Enoch Powell a belated cheer!
A few well-placed rifle rounds, and rioting would end in an instant. A more sustained attack on the rampaging mob might save England from itself, finally removing shaved-headed, drunken, lazy, envious, self-absorbed parasites from the benefits rolls that Britain can't find the will to abolish on leftist or moral grounds. We can be sure there's no danger of killing off the next Winston Churchill, Edmund Burke or Andrew Lloyd Webber in these crowds.
British authorities are paralyzed by their indifference to their own civilization. Over 60 years of berating themselves for the crime of having a British Empire and foolishly giving passports to their newly independent subjects has left them morally defenseless. After giving Mr Powell the personae non gratae treatment they saw nothing about England worth saving, certainly not worth fighting for---which is fortunate since most of their cops don't carry guns. If Britain of 1939 were composed of the current British population, the entirety of Europe would today be doing the "Heil Hitler" salute and wearing Lederhosen.
